Dave,

Content is hard. Very interesting concept. I could definitely see this as a valuable process.

Thanks for stopping by and commenting.

Creating content is the hardest part. Outsourcing it to ghostwriters doesn't always save time because the business owner must still interact with the writer and will still need to edit unless they have some great sympatico. Using an interview-style podcast puts the business owner into content creation mode. The key is using the outsider to be the interviewer and pull that content out of the expert business owner. Then, just repurpose it by transcribing and rewriting. The rewrite is always going to be easier because the expert spoke it in the first place!

Hi I am Crish, I used to write my daily notes from my school time. But sadly it ends with my job started. Now no time for daily notes. Only weekly summaries I mention in my book.

Totally Disagree with your bullet point on the cow. Solitude can amount to greatness. Einstein amongst others wanted space and believed it was crucial for them to create their success. (Even divorcing his wife and paying for everything to keep her and the kids away.)

Extreme but solitude should not be considered trouble.

Hi Bill,

Thanks so much for posting your morning must-read list to your blog.
Since I am involved in financial public relations/investor relations, and utilize social media for marketing/networking, here's a small glimpse of what I start my day reviewing:

The Wall Street Breakfast: Must-Know News from Seeking Alpha.

The Forbes morning digest of topics I follow such as Investing, Markets, Stocks.

Smartbrief.com is a great resource for me. I receive the SIFMA SmartBrief (sifma.org) and the Financial Services Roundtable first thing every morning.

I also receive the SmartBrief on Social Media and the SmartBrief on Leadership. These pull together headlines from Harvard Business Review, Open Forum, Conversation Agent, etc.

I then refer to twitter because I have people such as yourself, Copyblogger, Jamie Crager, Mashable, etc. on a list.

Now, on the weekends when the market is closed is a whole different story :-D

Thanks again for sharing and inviting me to do the same. Posts such as this are where I learn of terrific bloggers who I may not have found on my own.

Right, maybe just offering co-working space is a better concept.

I think you hit on another good point: Getting successes is as much about getting the right mix of skills and talent into the space.

Seems like there are new ones popping up all over the place, at least in NYC. In the past month I've been through three (or four, depending on how you define it) that are still 80% empty.

One of the problems being an incubator seems to be that determining who you want in the space is a harder decision than a VC or angel investment decision. Investing money, you can put in more or less and even put in a little and see how it goes before putting in more. If you're going to incubate, you make a bigger commitment: your time. I think it's hard to commit, say, $10,000 worth of your time and office space and, when that has been used up, decide to stop. You have less 'optionality.' So the decision whether or not to incubate can take a lot of thought.

Aside from giving some space to some people you know well already, running an incubator is probably a full-time job.
